Balapitiya – Aavya Cove Villas, a twelve-villa coastal retreat on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast, has joined the AAHAASA Collection, the design-led hospitality brand launched in late 2025. The property becomes AAHAASA’s coastal flagship, expanding the brand’s presence across Sri Lanka’s luxury retreat segment.
The Aavya Cove Villas AAHAASA Collection property is located in Balapitiya, approximately 45 minutes north of the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, occupying a naturally sheltered cove overlooking the Indian Ocean. The retreat offers 14 keys across private villas set within tropical gardens, sunlit terraces and intimate interiors designed to emphasise exclusivity and privacy.
“Aavya”, meaning “light on water”, reflects the property’s design ethos centred on light, purity and a connection to nature. As part of the AAHAASA Collection, Aavya joins sister properties in Sri Lanka’s Knuckles Mountains and tea country near Hatton, forming a portfolio of independently owned retreats positioned around place-based luxury experiences.
The property has introduced new signature guest experiences, wellness programmes and sustainability initiatives as part of its integration into the AAHAASA Collection. Inclusive design principles ensure full wheelchair accessibility across the retreat.
Sustainability initiatives are implemented under AAHAASA’s “Aayusha” framework, meaning “life” in Sinhala. Measures include single-use-plastic-free operations and community-focused programmes such as internships and career development pathways for children of local fishing families.
Through its low-density development model and design-led positioning, Aavya Cove Villas reinforces Sri Lanka’s growing reputation in the boutique luxury and experiential hospitality segment.
